Spoiler-Free Mini Review:

Yummy Yummy Yummy is a food focused transmigration comedy where the whole family is yeeted by mystical means from modern day China and plopped into the Tang Dynasty. While it did have some moments of humor, it wasn't as funny as I epected it to be. The hilarity around the family meeting their ancestor who is like a God to them was fun, but it kind of stops after that. The drama in actuality is a slower paced tale of family and revenge that took its sweet time getting to the romance. I'm not kidding when I say slow.

The use of transmigration for the whole family felt refreshing in an entertainment landscape that tends to use it as a an excuse to create Mary Sue lead characters these days. But after a few episodes, I wish they had left the FL's brother and father behind. They were too much. There was also too much of the squabilling parents, hijinks of the brother, and even the side plot with the grand princess could have been cut. Yummy Yummy Yummy would have benefited from slimming down to 24 instead of 32 episodes.

The chemistry between the leads wasn’t sizzling, but it was seriously so cute when they weren’t playing the “will they/won’t they” game. I don't love Wang Ying Lu in period dramas and that still holds true, but she did fine here, and Li Yun Rui measured up to the role nicely.

I'd recommend if you are in the mood for a leisurly paced transmigration drama that spends a good chunk of time on business, but does have some quality humor. And please skip the opening title. It gave away the whole plot of the show lol. Who signs off on these things?

Wang Ying Lu (FL) cannot for the life of her smile in pictures. I feel you girl.

Story= 3.5 (Too slow, should have been funnier) , Acting=3.5 (Fine) ,Production Quality=3 (Lower but passable) , Rewatch Value=2.75 (Prob not), Ending=4 (w/ censorship, it couldn’t have ended differently) Enjoyability= 3.75
