Non-Spoiler Thoughts:

Strong Girl Nam Soon is quite the deviation from Strong Girl Bong Soon (Also Known as: Strong Woman Bong Soon). The drama is a spin off that was looking to capitalize on the popularity of the originator with a bigger budget, shiny cast, and Marvel aspirations. Alas.

The narrative follows a girl with super strength (distantly related to Bong Soon) who becomes lost during a family vacation in Mongolia (somehow lol) and later returns to Korea to fight drugs. No really. That's the plot. It lacked the grounding of Strong Woman and felt needlessly edgier. Also, what were they thinking, casting Byeon Woo Seok at the 2ML? All the comments I read about the drama were laser focused on people wishing he had been the ML.Go Don't get me wrong, Ong Seong Wu as Kang Hui Sik (ML) did a good job and he had good chemistry with the FL, but next to BWS, no one stands a fighting chance.

Though we did not come back with a bang, at least we were back with a bob...

Story=2.5, Acting=2.5, Production Quality=4, Rewatch Value=2, Ending=2.25, Enjoyability= 1.5

Why I dropped:

  • Not gripping

  • Too edgy for its cheesiness

  • Didn't love the main romance
