Synopsis:
Heir Koo Won, known for his brilliance and charm, despises fake smiles but is captivated by Cheon Sa Rang’s genuine one. As they bond over their shared desire for true happiness, Koo Won is thrown into an inheritance battle at King of the Land, an exclusive lounge owned by The King Group. Cheon Sa Rang, with her radiant smile, lands a job at King Hotel, a place full of childhood memories. However, she must set those memories aside and quickly adapt to the challenges and prejudices she faces at work. @MDL
Non-Spoiler Thoughts:
King the Land is a fluffy, no stakes rom com about the "king" (aka Chaebol) of a hotel who falls in love with a capable employee. It gave hallmark and 2010's rom com energy, but I still wanted more from it. The main leads had good chemsitry, but I actually enjoyed the bond of the the FL and her friends more. I'm glad they each got a side romance. But there is a bit of cheesy cringe, and I am powerless against it.
*The drama was review bombed on MDL due to a controversial depiction of an Arab character, so I don't know how accurate the rating is.
The drama was actually pretty well received and quite popular at the time of release, but it's just not for me. If you enjoy Business Proposal or What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, then I think this might be up your alley.
Story=3, Acting=3, Production Quality=4, Ending=3, Enjoyability= 2.5
Why I dropped:
I wanted more than just romance
Same old Chaebol/Employee love story
