Spoiler-Free Mini Review:
So there will be very minor spoilers because I need to rant.
*Screams into the ether* Alas, what should haven been a hilarious Cinderella Rom Com turned out to be its disappointing stepsister. Dynamite Kiss is a contrived and cliche tale, the likes of which are seen in cautionary human resources videos. The drama chronicles a fake marriage that forces the main characters to grapple with infidelity, which could make a for a very morally complex narrative, but instead, when this "infidelity" should make me pity the ML, I just hated him. This man knew the FL for 1.5 days with no commitments made, only sharing kisses, and once he finds out she is "married", instead of exposing her, firing her, or ignoring her, proceeds to literally torture and retaliate against her for episodes. Is the FL Diddy and the ML 50 cent? Get a grip, bro.

What the FL did was seriously messed up from his perspective, but the ML was so badly written I couldn't even sit in sympathy for him. Riddle me this, we’re suppose to hate the ML’s father when the ML shares his abusive traits? Not today, Satan. The ML was too intense, had a weird superman hairdo, and was a giant red flag. At one point when the ML was romantically pursing her, the FL literally asked “Is this some kind of bullying?” Though this was suppose to be a rom com, the initial framing of the story with the FL’s sister and the Mom’s TF team would have made a much more interesting main plot exploring motherhood, singlehood, and a woman's role in family. What wasted potential! The romance should have been a side plot.

And justice for the ML’s half sister. She’s in the same family situation as the FL from CLOY, but instead of a nuanced portrayal with her Stepmother, we got a ridiculous villain. The Male Lead's mom’s story was another “could have been”, but then she was cured from her years long clinical depression by one conversation where the FL’s mother tells her she’s made her son suffer so maybe don't be depressed. Deep stuff. I think the show's biggest hiccup was that all the story elements I mentioned do not culimate in a rom com, but the writers tried to force it in that direction. I think the original title "Kiss Me for No Reason" was apt.
I don't reccomend. It was quite the journey watching the drama fall in MDL ratings from week to week. It was dynamite alright. This is the lowest I have rated a K-Drama I actually completed.

Story=2 (Garbage), Acting=2.5 (The ML actor didn't sell the role for me and I like the FL actress better in more serious roles. It felt too forced), Production Quality=4, Ending= 2 (WHAT HAPPENED TO HER SISTER AAHHHH), Enjoyability= 2.5 (I'd like to to thank my skip button for it's never ending support), Would I rewatch= No
