Spoiler-Free Mini Review:

The Blossoming Love felt like a fresh Xianxia in the first third to only slowly became the same old, same old for the remainder of the drama. The Female Lead and Second Male Lead were made for their roles, but the Male Lead could have been replaced with a cardboard cut out of himself, and it wouldn't have changed the quality of his acting.

While I got bored by the end, it wasn't as as draggy as the usual Xianxia. This is the one time I have felt like the episode count limit is beneficial. That being said, the last 10 episodes are undeniably much slower, and I barely made it to the finish line with the help of my ffwd button . I don't know if I'm just tired of the same old tropes, or if the story just ran out of juice.

The Blossoming Love is an ok time if you enjoy this genre; it didn't offend, nor did it amaze. But it did have the cutest child actor ever. And it's still better than Shen Li in my book.

Sun Zhenni and Vin Zhang in The blossoming Love

Story=3 (Passable, but convoluted), Acting=3 (Passable), Production Quality=3 (Passable, CGI was fine), Rewatch Value=2.75, Ending=3.5 (Didn't ruin, but confusing), Enjoyability= 3.5 (Fine, <3/4 dragged)
