Synopsis:

Although Baek Hui Seong is hiding a dark secret surrounding his true identity, he has established a happy family life and a successful career. He is a loving husband and a doting father to his young daughter. But his perfect façade begins to crumble when his wife, Cha Ji Won, a homicide detective, begins investigating a string of serial murders from 15 years ago. Spoiler-Free Mini Review:

The set up of Flower of Evil is a narrative done to death: A cat and mouse game between a serial killer and detective. However, the drama takes the tropey premise and completely turns it on its head. At its heart, the story is about the relationship between two lonely people and how the preconceived notions forced on them can shape and control their lives.



The plot is incredibly suspenseful and intense, and I don't recommend watching unless you've got some time on your hands. There are so many twisty cliffhangers that kept Netflix check in on me, asking if I was still watching. And indeed, I was. I finished this puppy in three days.



In terms of content, there are "scary" images that wouldn't be suitable for younger children, but nothing explicit is ever shown. The last couple episodes are the most "intense", but it never gets too gruesome (at least for my tastes). It sounds strange, but there is a somewhat wholesome undertone that interweaves throughout the story, taking the edge off of the intense moments.



Side Note: Moon Chae Won (Female Lead Actress) just got married and the whole cast came to her wedding. ***tears****


Final Side Note: The entire time I was watching the show I couldn't stop thinking about how great Do Hae Su's (2FL) hair was. I'm obsessed.

Story=4.5 (What a page turner!), Acting=5, Production Quality=4.5, Ending= 4.25, Enjoyability= 5, Would I rewatch= Yes!
