Synopsis:
Xiong Xi Ruo is a young female painter who infiltrates the family home of the powerful Li family to paint a copy of a precious item. However, her escape from the Li home goes horribly wrong and she finds her fate at the mercy of Li family heir Li Hong Bin. On the verge of arrest, Li Hong Bin and Xiong Xi Ruo hatch a lie – they pretend that she is pregnant with his child. This arrangement suits Li Hong Bin fine, as a marriage with Xiong Xi Ruo will help him escape an arranged marriage with the daughter of the Song family – a union he is particularly keen to avoid. The Li family grants its consent for Li Hong Bin and Xiong Xi Ruo to get married, but it is not long before some relatives – and the plotting Song family – begin to suspect that the pregnancy is a fake. Meanwhile, as Li Hong Bin and Xiong Xi Ruo spend more time in each other's company, they begin to develop a growing fondness for one another. Could love bloom between the pair? And can they survive – or even thwart – the schemes at court? @MDL

Spoiler-Free Mini Review:
Oh! My Sweet Liar! is a campy and mindless gambol (broke out the thesaurus), where the FL must navigate a den of haters while pretending to be pregnant, aided by the smitten ML. The show understood what it was-- It didn't try to be too silly, but also never got Oscar aspirations in the third act.
However, the drama waffled a bit in the aforementioned third act when the leads weren't together, and in hindsight, the storyline of the ML's brother was unnecessary. Should have been 24 episodes. The lead actors had great chemistry, and did the acting job the story required; nothing more, nothing less. As I was watching I couildn't help but think that Xi Zi (FL Actress) has strong Landy Li vibes, lol. I didn't love that she was dubbed by Qiao Shi Yu, who has a very "young" voice, and has voiced the FL in Love in Redemption, Youthful Glory, and many of Diliabra's dramas. But Xiong Xi Ruo (FL) was a hoot and a half, and while the Male Lead wasn't exactly Benson Boone backflipping, he had a great smile and captured the essence of his role.
The production quality was Flo Rida low, but it matched the unserious vibe of the drama. While Oh! My Sweet Liar! was mildly funny, the humor didn't shine as much as it could have, but overall it was fun and engaging, if you're looking for a background watch.
Lastly, the ML and I have the same posture. I wish us both future chiropractic visits.
Story= 3 (The opening premise was a bit wild for my taste, but resolved well), Acting=3 (The ML had a great smile and good chemistry w/ the FL), Production Quality=2.5 (the wigs *chills*), Rewatch Value=2 (probs a one and done), Ending=4.5 (We lost all shreds of seriousness and I didn't mind), Enjoyability= 3 (Fine)
**There is some Chinese Language humor w/ the fact that the word for monk and naked man sound similar which occurs because the assassin has a thick dialect.**
