Synopsis:
Distrustful of Pan Yue after her past life's murder, Shangguan Zhi investigates old cases unveiling his innocence. As they bond confronting clans, she realizes he loved her, but a mastermind's trap threatens their newfound happiness. @IMBD
Non-Spoiler Thoughts:
With peace and blessings, this was not a slay for Ju Jing Yi. In fact, she was slain, as we had a direct comparison with another (actual) actress portraying the same character who absolutely nailed it. Zheng He Hui Zi was Yang Cai Wei for like 2 seconds, but those were the greatest 2 seconds of the whole drama. And basically, the whole internet agreed, which is aco-taco. Ju Jing Yi's "acting" did not fit the role, her look was absurdly modern with thick lip gloss and pale foundation caked on, and she had no chemistry with Liu Xue Yi. And though she is supposed to be a coroner, she looked eerily like a corpse. I know there is a trend to be skinnier these days, and the drama tries to justify her slight appearance by having her new body be one previously inhabited by an appearance obsessed young woman, but no. I genuinely hope she is ok. It makes so sad to see these gorgeous actors (both male and female) at weights that can't be unhealthy.
Pan Yue (ML) was a bland character that got a little better as time went on, but I never felt interest in the secondary couple. The drama had a flash of popularity that quickly died down after a few episodes, and I can understand why.
Why I dropped:
Acting of the Female Lead was really bad (she has improved in other dramas I've seen recently, so there is hope?)
Didn't like the styling
Not interested in the secondary couple
